How it works

 

 

1. Initial enquiry
  • To start with, get in touch to discuss your project and requirements.
     

  • It is helpful to send me a sample of the document, so I can get a good idea of what you are looking for. It is also useful to know about any style guides or author preferences that should be adhered to.
     

  • Let me know If you are working to a fixed budget and fee, otherwise I can provide an estimated quote free of charge, along with an idea of timescale. 
    I am also happy to answer any questions you might have too.

3. Queries and revisions
  • As I proceed with your document, I will draw up a list of queries—there may be many, or I may only have a few!
     

  • Issues that run globally throughout the text I will wish to resolve with you as soon as possible. Otherwise I can either contact you with any queries as and when I come to them, or deliver the list to you at the end—whatever your preference.
     

  • In the case of a document edit, you then have the option to return the files to me along with the answers to my queries so that I can incorporate/check them. I will also do a quick check of the document and ensure that all queries have been dealt with.


 

2. Project underway
  • Once you are happy with these particulars and we have agreed upon the timescale and fee, then I will take a closer look at your document as a whole.
     

  • We will then discuss the project in detail and ensure that we are both clear on what the process will entail.
     

  • NB: If you require a document to be edited or proofread at short notice with a quick turnaround, e.g. next day, I reserve the right to charge an additional 'rush fee'—this is usually 25% of the agreed initial price.

4. Completion and delivery
  • Once I have undertaken your project to the agreed specifications, I will return your work within the timescale discussed.
     

  • Once you have confirmed receipt and that you’re happy with the final document, I will send you my invoice.
     

  • Payment is due within 30 days from the date of invoice, by BACS transfer or by cheque.
     

  • Client feedback and testimonials are both always appreciated and welcome.
